Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (S11) training is required for any Scouter that wishes to register as a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster of a Scouts BSA troop. And, since every Scout deserves a trained leader, IOLS training is recommended for any Scouter that wishes to assist in leading Scout troops in the outdoors.

The Fall 2020 IOLS course will be held Friday, October 23rd, 6:30 pm – Saturday, October 24th, 5:00 pm at Kelsey Short Youth Camp (Area 3) at Smithville Lake.

Prerequisites

Before attending IOLS, Scouters must have completed Youth Protection Training as well as Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training*. Both training courses are available online at my.scouting.org.

Additionally, IOLS attendees are required to attend an organizational pre-course meeting October 1, 2020, held at the North Star District roundtable meeting.

Cost and Registration

The IOLS course fee is $25.00. This fee includes lunch on Saturday and program supplies.

Registration for this course must be received by October 9. 2020. No walk-ins will be accepted at the campsite.
